Vanteon Presents at 2019 IMS Microwave Week

Fairport, New York (July 15, 2019) The IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society’s 2019 IMS Microwave Week was held the first week of June 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts. Although Vanteon has attended the show for many years, this year we were excited to be an exhibitor for the first time.

At the show, Vanteon was demonstrating a custom Point-to-Multi-Point (PtMP) network using vImpulse2 endpoints communicating with a vChameleon low cost Software Defined Radio (SDR). The demo showed the benefit of using a wideband SDR as a collector in a system of narrowband transmitters in order to increase aggregate capacity and reduce endpoint power consumption by supporting up to 128 narrowband channels of bubble-up transmissions in a single radio. The application demonstrates how SDR can be used in IIoT applications (e.g. AMR/AMI) to add capacity and flexibility in what has traditionally been implemented using time duplexed narrowband transceivers.

The show brought together users and providers of RF and Microwave equipment across a wide variety of markets and applications including military, medical, industrial, and more.  “Vanteon’s custom PtMP solution showcased our wireless design expertise, gaining attention from IMS attendees as a drop-in solution, and as a mature starting point that can be customized to meet their exact application needs.”, said Nick Oddo, Vanteon Business Development Manager.  Vanteon will also be exhibiting in IMS 2020 next year in Los Angeles, CA.

Vanteon provides hardware and software solutions for wireless systems ranging from complex military SDRs to tiny, low power IoT devices including standards based wireless designs such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Dust, and LoRa as well as proprietary radio solutions.
