Vanteon Delivers Initial Shipment of vImpulseâ„¢ 900MHz Radio
Fairport, NY (January 3, 2018) – Vanteon has delivered the initial production run of vImpulseTM, a new micropower long range wireless radio transceiver. The radio, based on Vanteon’s vImpulseTM Intellectual Property Platform, was recently delivered to a client as a key element in the client’s existing industrial control system. vImpulseTM is certified by the FCC and IC for sale throughout the United States and Canada.
The vImpulseTM radio is a software configurable transceiver module designed for long range data communications. The small form factor (1.9″ x 1.2″) and low power capability allows the module to be utilized in applications that require remote control and data acquisition in industrial environments where frequent battery changes are inconvenient or costly.
The vImpulseTM module is well suited to be deployed in a Point to Multi-Point network utilizing the Vanteon vPrisumTM SDR Intellectual Property Platform as a collector/gateway radio. The high performance vPrisumTM platform complements vImpulseTM by employing wideband signal processing techniques to enable communication with dozens of vImpulseTM endpoints simultaneously.
In standalone operation, applications include low power wireless sensor network systems, SCADA, meter reading, oil and gas monitoring and control. The use of 900 MHz unlicensed spectrum allows the device to be easily installed into a clients’ existing enclosure and deployed quickly in a wide variety of systems.
Our first client buying vImpulseTM remarked that “Vanteon’s low cost radio allowed us to replace an older technology radio to maintain our product line while eliminating obsolescence issues with our existing radio. With Vanteon’s software integration support, there was a smooth transition of their radio into our product.”
The vImpulseTM transceiver boards are available for direct purchase as a product from Vanteon, or our IP can readily be tailored into a custom solution by Vanteon’s team of RF, embedded hardware and software design engineers.
