RF System-On-Chip (RFSoC)
RFSoC (RF system on chip) combines a Xilinx FPGA SoC with direct RF-sampling data converters. This architecture eliminates the need for external data converters and moves much of the RF signal processing into the digital domain.
By integrating high-speed RF data converters directly with programmable logic, RFSoC platforms enable compact, high-performance RF systems that support wide bandwidth operation, reduced latency, and simplified board-level design. This level of integration allows engineers to implement complete receiver and transmitter chains on a single device while maintaining flexibility through software and firmware updates.
Vanteon has extensive experience in developing RFSoC based solutions for a variety of applications. Our RFSoC experience has been utilized to design products for the defense and commercial industries for RADAR, GPS Simulation, and Signal Analysis applications.
RFSoC Applications
Vanteon applies RF system on chip (RFSoC) technology across demanding, performance-critical environments, including:
- Defense and aerospace systems
- Commercial RF and signal processing platforms
- RADAR systems
- GPS simulation and test systems
- Signal analysis and monitoring applications
RFSoC architectures are especially well-suited for applications requiring wide instantaneous bandwidth, multi-channel operation, and real-time processing. By consolidating RF conversion and digital signal processing into a single platform, RFSoC enables smaller form factors, lower power consumption, and faster development cycles compared to traditional discrete RF designs.
These capabilities make RFSoC ideal for next-generation sensing, communications, and test platforms where flexibility, performance, and long-term maintainability are essential.
