Vanteon Offers vChameleon™ Low Cost Software Defined Radio

Fairport, NY (October 16, 2017) – Vanteon is pleased to announce the introduction of vChameleonTM, a unique low-cost Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform. The radios, based on Vanteon’s new vChameleonTM intellectual property (IP) platform, will be available for demonstration in Q4 2017.

The vChameleonTM SDR can be configured for a wide variety of characteristics and behaviors required by the situation, providing a highly integrated, small but ultra-flexible radio platform. vChameleon™ is perfect for high performance RF signal processing applications, at a uniquely low cost point for an agile SDR.

The radio includes the Analog Devices AD9365 low-cost transceiver, a Xilinx Zynq SOC FPGA with embedded ARM Cortex A9 processor, and a custom Vanteon RF Front End to enhance capabilities by increasing transmit power and improving out-of-band performance.

As is the case with other Vanteon IP offerings, the vChameleon™ SDR is designed to be easily configured for a wide range of client product applications, ranging from security systems, broadcast and collection of remote sensor or metering data, to any application that can benefit from customizable RF waveforms.

Jeff Miller, Business Development Manager at Vanteon, states that “the addition of the vChameleon™ SDR is our response to many requests for highly agile and capable radios targeting low cost, high volume applications. We look forward to helping our clients who have always wanted to add SDR capabilities to their portfolio, but previously were out of reach due to cost or complexity.”
