Vanteon Selected For Secure Military Communications Project

Advances Capability of Joint Tactical Radio Systems for Battlefield Conditions

Rochester, New York (February 25, 2011) Vanteon Corporation, an electronic systems design and engineering company, has been selected for porting the “Soldier Radio Waveform” (SRW) to a new radio system used for secure IP-networked communications in tactical settings. The SRW is for use on Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) which is a series of Software Defined Radios (SDR) designed for foot soldiers that are wirelessly networked to vehicles, aircraft, and ships for voice and data capability.

The Soldier Radio Waveform is designed to perform in a complex military environment, such as an active battlefield, to provide a secure high-bandwidth communications link specifically designed for military radio systems that are small, light and consume little power.

Our engineering group has a history of delivering solutions for wireless communications systems, states Joe Burke, Vanteon’s CEO. “We are honored to be working on advancing the Joint Tactical Radio Systems and view this as an acknowledgement of our technical capabilities and our collective contribution to supporting our troops,” Burke continued.
