Vanteon White Paper Addresses Requirements Engineering for Software Engineers
Rochester, New York (August 6, 2012) Vanteon Corporation, an electronic systems design and engineering company, encourages its engineers to investigate, work with, and teach others about new technologies and techniques. Accordingly, a number of white papers have been written and published by Vanteon’s engineers to help promote better engineering. A new paper, titled Requirements Engineering for Software Engineers, was recently published and posted to several sites, including Vanteon’s papers and publications web page.
This paper, written by Aaron Sher, Sr. Principal Software Engineer, presents an introduction to the discipline of requirements engineering in a form tailored for software engineers. Requirements engineering is the process of turning the unstructured requests of stakeholders into useful requirements, and can be an engineering discipline as rigorous and involved as software architecture. This paper attempts to provide a brief tutorial in order to improve the overall level of requirements used for software projects. The paper can be downloaded here.
